Tony Forrest 20 years of amazing service

Avenues sadly farewelled Tony Forrest in 2015, but not before we had the chance to proudly celebrate his 20 years of service to Avenues and our community!

Counting down the nights until the All Abilities Ball, Friday 1st DecemberSome things you may need to know about Friday's All Abilities Ball:The event will be going ahead, rain or shine, we have capped numbers to accommodate everyone under cover, should the need arise if there is rain on the evening. The event run time will be 6pm sharp until around 10.30pm, we do ask everyone to arrive by 6pm, so people can listen to the Just Us Choir, so there is no need to be fashionably late. There will be a guest register, or list of names at the door. So if you have purchased a ticket yourself, or if one of your disability supports have purchased a ticket for you, your name or providers name will be listed. Support Workers and family would need to have purchased a ticket, however if you have any concerns, just see one of the friendly staff at check-in. Food will include several rounds of Canapes throughout the evening and a light meal that can be eaten standing up, due to the number of attendees. Drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic will be for sale from the Gunabul team; standard Responsible Service of Alcohol rules apply, including the need for ID if asked. All drinks will be able to be purchased by both cash and card.There will be free tea and coffee available on the evening and Espresso coffee will also be on sale, made lovingly by the Gunabul Baristas.The dress standard is officially "Dress Your Best", however please interpret that how you will; from a ball gown to a tuxedo, summer dress or nice jeans - we don't want people to feel that they can't attend, as they can't afford an outfit, hence the theme of dress your best. A special thanks to Fancy That Op Shop Gympie for helping to clothe many of our guests on the evening too. There will be multiple disability friendly toilets available on site and if required, there is also a disability friendly shower available, should the need arise. There will be a lucky door prize, proudly donated by the team at Gunabul Homestead and there will be also be raffle tickets for sale on the night, with some great prizes to be had. The raffles will also be drawn on the evening, but you do not need to be present to collect your prize, if your name is called out. There will be a sensory/noise reduced break-out area that can also be accessed, if the need arises.
