Lifestyle Support that Counts

Avenues Lifestyle Support Association Inc. is a professional Gympie based Disability Service provider funded since 1993.

We support people with different abilities to pursue their individual interests and lifestyle options and to continually explore and develop healthy lifestyles across their communities.

In 1976 thirty Gympie families formed a Parent Support Group and this group was the original forerunner to the organisation that was to be. In 1993 the Accommodation Sub-Committee of the group evolved into an Incorporated Association and Avenues Lifestyle Support Association Inc. was born.

From such a committed beginning the association now supports 30 people with a disability and employs over 40 staff members who ensure that service delivery is of the highest standard.

Avenues has always met funding body certification through external audit processes and is fully compliant with the Queensland Disability Service Standards. Certification represents full recognition of our Service as a professionally run disability service delivery organisation.

Operating from our permanent home at the historic Foresters’ Hall in Red Hill Rd, Gympie, Avenues provides support and services that add value to an individuals lives.

The Sherwood Hall located at on Avenues grounds is a hub for the individuals Avenues supports as it provides a welcoming space for cooking, crafts and arts and a place to relax. The Sherwood Hall is also home to a variety of community groups who hire the space for workshops, meetings and gatherings.

Our MISSION is for Avenues to provide support to enable people with a disability to pursue their individual interests and lifestyle options and to further explore and develop natural networks.

Pricing for our in home support and community access services is aligned to the NDIS Price Guide. Avenues is a respondent to the Price Guide’s Temporary Transformation Payment (TTP) which assists providers to continue to transform and operate their businesses as we move towards a more competitive marketplace environment. COMPLAINTS MANAGEMENT

We pride ourselves on the amazing support and care our workers provide our clients, however from time to time something might happen that you are not happy about. This could be with your support workers, the office staff or an Avenues service.

Complaints are one of the best ways to identify problems. We encourage you to speak with us as this will help us to improve our services.

Avenues’ complaint management system consists of forms, registers and policies and procedures to assist you and us in handling a complaint and working together towards a resolution. 

If you, a family member or guardian or a member of the public would like to make a complaint, there are several ways you can go about this. 

You could;

  • Phone us on 5482 9775
  • Pop into our office on 37 Red Hill Rd Gympie
  • You can request our comments, suggestions and complaints form and fill this in with your concerns
  • You can ask for a copy of our Comments, suggestions and complaints policy and procedure which will give you more information on the steps we will take to fix any issues.

If you feel that we have been unable to resolve your complaint or concern you can also contact a Disability Advocacy organisation or the NDIS Quality and Safeguard Commission to seek further assistance.
